Advocacy
Improving access to care requires more than coordination—it requires trust and a strong, unified voice. 804HealthNET brings partners together to build trust across healthcare organizations and between people and the healthcare system, while advocating for a stronger, more responsive system that meets the needs of our communities.
Our advocacy work focuses on three key areas: advocacy, education, and policy. We elevate shared priorities, inform decision-makers, and support partners with the knowledge and tools needed to engage effectively in systems change. By translating on-the-ground experience into clear insights, we help shape policies that strengthen the health safety net and expand access to care.
We believe that meaningful change happens when trust is established and communities, providers, and leaders are aligned. Through collective action, we work to ensure that policies reflect real needs, resources are directed where they matter most, and every person has a fair opportunity to achieve better health.
Policy Goals
We support policies that strengthen the health safety net and improve equitable access to care across our region. Our focus is on practical, system-level changes that ensure providers and communities have the resources and support needed to deliver care effectively.
Policies We Advocate For
1. Fund medical safety-net services to ensure essential care remains available and sustainable for those who need it most.
2. Improve access to care, including reducing barriers, expanding pharmaceutical care, and strengthening Public Need/Charity Care (COPN) processes.
3. Strengthen the healthcare workforce, including scope of practice, volunteer support, malpractice coverage, credentialing, and training pathways.
